Writ of Ventitioni – requires a sale of goods that were seized under an earlier writ

Writ of Ventitioni:

“[Latin ‘you are to expose for sale] (17c.) A writ of execution requiring a sale of particular goods to be made. The writ is directed to a sheriff who has levied on goods remain unsold for lack of buyers. In some jurisdictions, a venditioni exponas is issued to require a sale of property seized under an earlier writ, after the property has been condemned or passed on by inquisition. – Abbr.
