1. A type of adverse possession in which the claim arises from the claimant’s payment of taxes under color of right rather than by actual possession of the land. [1]

1. By statute in some states, payment of taxes on real property one does not own, under color of title or color of right, is constructive adverse possession of that property. See constructive possession. [2]
