Periodically, however, Congress has exercised its power, based on Article III and Article I of the Constitution, to create other federal courts.\u00a0 Courts established under Article III are known as constitutional courts and those created under Article I are called legislative courts.\u00a0 The <a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=2521\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Supreme Court<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=2524\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">courts of appeals<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=2519\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">federal district courts<\/a>, and the Court of International Trade are <a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=9905\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">constitutional courts<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993300; font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Legislative Courts:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;Article I Courts&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Legislative courts, unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=9905\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">their constitutional counterparts<\/a>, often have administrative and quasi-legislative as well as judicial duties.\u00a0 Another difference is that legislative courts are often created for the express purpose of helping to administer a specific congressional statute.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=9905\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Constitutional courts<\/a>, on the other hand, are tribunals established to handle litigation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Finally, the constitutional and legislative courts vary in their degree of independence from the other two branches of government.\u00a0 Article III (constitutional court) judges serve during a period of good behavior, or what amounts to life tenure.\u00a0 Because Article I (legislative court) judges have no constitutional guarantee of good-behavior tenure, Congress may set specific terms of office for them.\u00a0 In sum, the constitutional courts have a greater degree of independence from the other two branches of government than the legislative courts.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=9860\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces<\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u2013 worldwide appellate jurisdiction over members of the armed forces on active duty and other persons subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=9854\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 reviews Board of Veterans\u2019 Appeals decisions appealed by claimants who believe the Board erred in its decision.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=9870\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">U.S. Tax Court<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>\u2013 a trial court to expeditiously resolve disputes between taxpayers and the Internal Revenue Service.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=2566\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">U.S. Court\u00a0of Federal Claims<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 a special trial court which deals with most claims for money damages against the U.S. government, and damages related to vaccine compensation.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cit.uscourts.gov\/\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Court of International Trade<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 addresses cases involving international trade and customs laws.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #993300;\"><strong>Bankruptcy:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Federal courts have exclusive jurisdiction over bankruptcy cases involving personal, business, or farm bankruptcy.\u00a0 This means a bankruptcy case cannot be filed in state court.\u00a0 Through the bankruptcy process, individuals or businesses that can no longer pay their creditors may either seek a court-supervised liquidation of their assets, or they may reorganize their financial affairs and work out a plan to pay their debts.\u00a0<\/strong>[1] [2]<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;
