two or more tortfeasors whose simultaneous actions cause injury to a third party.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"color: #008000; font-size: 18pt;\"><a style=\"color: #008000;\" href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">consecutive tortfeasors<\/a><\/span> &#8211; two or more tortfeasors whose actions, while occurring at different time, combine to cause a single injury to a third party.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"color: #008000; font-size: 18pt;\"><a style=\"color: #008000;\" href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">joint tortfeasors<\/a><\/span> &#8211; two or more tortfeasors who contributed to the claimant\u2019s injury and who may be joined as defendants in the same lawsuit.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"color: #008000; font-size: 18pt;\"><a style=\"color: #008000;\" href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">successive tortfeasors <\/a><\/span>&#8211; two or more tortfeasors whose ne<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">gligence occurs at different times and causes different Injuries to the same third party.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7048\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fault<\/a><\/span> &#8211; the legal\u00a0responsibility for an injury suffered by another that is caused by error or defect of judgment or conduct\u00a0resulting from inattention, incapacity, perversity, bad faith, or mismanagement.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7907\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">culpable<\/a><\/span> &#8211; guilty or at fault and\/or breach or duty.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7912\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">breach of duty of care<\/a><\/span> &#8211; negligence that results in a foreseeable injury that would not have occurred but for the\u00a0negligent person&#8217;s actions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7031\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">liability<\/a><\/span> &#8211;
