Final Judgment<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“<\/strong>(18c) A court\u2019s last action that settles the rights of the parties and disposes of all issues in controversy, except for the award of costs<\/strong> (and,\u00a0<\/span>sometimes, attorney\u2019s fees) and enforcement of the judgment.<\/strong>\u00a0 Also termed final appealable judgment<\/em>;\u00a0<\/span>final decision<\/em>; final decree<\/em><\/strong><\/span>; definitive judgment<\/em>; determinative judgment<\/em>; final appealable order<\/em><\/strong><\/span>.“<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Final-Judgment Rule<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“(1931) The principle that a party may appeal only from a district court\u2019s final decision that ends the litigation on the merits. * Under this rule, a party\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>must raise all claims of error in a single appeal.<\/strong> – Also\u00a0<\/span>termed final-decision rule<\/em>; finality rule<\/em>. 28 USCA \u00a7 1291.” [1]<\/span><\/p>\n
