Definition of Extraordinary Writ<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/strong>(17c)\u00a0A writ issued by a court exercising unusual or\u00a0<\/strong>discretionary power. \u00a0Examples are<\/strong>\u00a0writ of\u00a0certiorari,\u00a0writ of habeas corpus,\u00a0writ of mandamus.\u00a0<\/em>&\u00a0prohibition writ<\/em>.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0Also termed prerogative writ.
