Various Types of Offenses:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

bailable offense<\/a><\/span> – a criminal charge for which a defendant may be released from custody after providing proper<\/span> security<\/a>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

indictable offense<\/span><\/a> – a crime that can be prosecuted by indictment, usually only felonies or serious misdemeanors.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

substantive offense<\/a><\/span> – a crime that is complete in itself and not dependent on another crime for one of its elements. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
