The rule that conspiracy<\/a> is punishable only if the agreement was entered into with an evil purpose, not merely with an intent to do the illegal act.\u00a0 *\u00a0 This doctrine \u2014 which originated in People v. Powell<\/em>, 63 N.Y. 88 (1875)<\/span>.<\/strong> \u2014 has been rejected by the Model penal Code<\/span><\/strong>. \u2014 aka Powell doctrine<\/strong><\/em><\/span>.
