\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201c[M]anslaughter is very difficult to define precisely, because it includes so many different types of culpability. The main line of division is between voluntary and involuntary manslaughter, the first occurring where there is an intention to do some illegal harm to a person, the second where there is no such intention. \u00a0 Manslaughter . . . may not be the result of intent at all.\u00a0 It may be the consequence of negligence.\u00a0 This, indeed, is one of the principal causes of involuntary manslaughter, and it has long been clear that a different degree of negligence, sometimes termed \u2018gross,\u2019 \u2018criminal,\u2019 or \u2018complete,\u2019 is a necessary prerequisite of criminal liability, <\/span>but <\/span><\/em>these epithets have not added much from the standpoint of legal clarity.<\/span>\u201d<\/strong> [4]<\/span><\/p>\n

Degrees of Manslaughter:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

voluntary manslaughter<\/span> <\/a>– homicide committed with provocation or in the heat of passion<\/a>. <\/strong>\u2014 aka first degree manslaughter<\/span><\/strong><\/em>; intentional manslaughter<\/strong><\/em><\/span>; manslaughter in the first degree<\/span><\/strong><\/em>; unintentional murder<\/strong><\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
