1. The criminal offense under the common law, and by the statutes of many jurisdictions, of obstructing the administration and due court of justice.\u00a0 39 Am J1st Obst J \u00a7 1<\/span>. <\/strong>[1]<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cThe goal, \u2014 to proscribe every willful act of corruption, intimidation or force which tends in any way to distort or impede the administration of law either civil or criminal \u2014 has been very largely attained, partly by aid of legislation.\u00a0 And any punishable misdeed of such a nature which is not recognized as a distinct crime, is usually called \u2018obstruction of justice,\u2019 or \u2018obstructing justice,\u2019 \u2014 a common-law misdemeanor.<\/span>\u201d <\/strong>[4]<\/span><\/p>\n
