a claim for further relief based on events occurring after the original claim was made.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7891\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">antecedent claim<\/span><\/strong><\/a> &#8211; <strong>a preexisting claim. * Under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/ucc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UCC<\/a>, a holder takes an instrument for value if it is taken for an antecedent claim. <a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7893\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UCC\u00a0\u00a7 3-303<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7897\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">apportionable claim<\/span><\/a> &#8211; a claim for economic loss or damage to property where, more than one wrongdoer is liable in proportion to his or her responsibility for the harm done.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7825\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">honest claim<\/span><\/a> &#8211; made by someone who believes they have a right to something or that there is a chance that such\u00a0right exists.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7826\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">liquidated claim<\/a><\/span> &#8211; a claim with a definite amount that was agreed upon, can easily be determined, or has already been determined.\u00a0 \u2014 <\/strong>aka<strong>\u00a0<em>liquidated demand.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/reunitethestates.org\/\/?page_id=7835\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">matured claim<\/span><\/a>\u00a0&#8211;
