1.<\/strong> The right of an attorney to hold or retain a client\u2019s money or property (a retaining lien) or to encumber money payable to the client (a charging lien) until the attorney\u2019s fees have been properly determined and paid. <\/strong>[1]<\/span><\/p>\n

1. General or retaining lien upon money or property of his client in his possession as security for the general balance due the attorney from the client for professional services rendered the client.\u00a0 7 Am J2d Attys \u00a7\u00a7 272 et seq<\/span>. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
